We are pleased to present the 2014 Wales Africa Awards. WCVA have awarded 29 organisations and 10 individuals for their contribution to community development in Wales and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Gold Star Awards, piloted by BUILD and WCVA in 2008 and endorsed by the UN, aim to ‘recognise the best to inspire the rest’ in volunteering and community linking projects between Wales and Africa. The awards recognise the contributions of Welsh civil society organisations in forging:

  • UN Gold Star Awards for long-term, mutually beneficial community links
  • Individual 'Outstanding Contribution' to the international sector in Wales
