Organisational Development Grants - Africa Links
Funded by the Welsh Government 'Wales for Africa' programme, managed by Wales Council for Voluntary Action. We are currently awaiting confirmation from Welsh Government of conditions for forward funding of grants for 2012-15, following which more specific information will be detailed here. We expect to offer the following levels.
- Tied directly to supporting organisational development of Welsh Third Sector projects, in developing good practise in community linking through the phases of the UN Gold Star Award framework.
- £0-2,000: Partnership Building and Participation Grants for exchange visits and activities with African partners, volunteer and community particiaption leading to joint partnership agreements (phase 2); to include awareness raising and community engagement activities that build groups' supporter base in Wales (phase 1).
- £0-5,000: Capacity Building Project Grants for developing and delivering projects intended to contribute to community development, the MDGs, and long-term organisational sustainability (phase 3), and to coordination with authorities and impact assessment of project interventions (phase 4).
- All projects in receipt of WACL funding will receive Development Officer support from the WACL team, networking opportunities and training in key skill areas, and will be profiled through our website and publications (see projects funded to date here).
- Funding must be spent and reported against to WACL within 1 year. You can download a completion report template here.

Next Grants Round
We are currently awaiting confirmation of our forward funding from Welsh Government for 2012-15. We expect to offer the following application rounds in 2012-13:
- Summer 2012 Grant Round: Opening in April; applications deadline early June for dispersal in early July for activities starting between July and November.
- Autumn 2012 Grant Round: Opening in August; applications deadline late September for dispersal in October for activities starting between October and February.
- Winter 2013 Grant Round: Opening in November; applications deadline late January for dispersal in February, for activities starting between February and May.

- Download the APPLICATION FORM AND GUIDANCE NOTES: A NEW APPLICATION FORM IS BEING DEVELOPED AND WILL BE AVAILABLE HERE. DO NOT USE THE OLD APPLICATION FORM AS IT WILL BE INELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING.
- Follow the instructions and guidance notes carefully while filling in your application; in particular, please keep your answers brief and clear.
