For volunteers and organisations linking with Africa.
3rd Dec International Disability Day: Supporting the inclusion of people with disabilities in community development projects is often seen as complex, expensive and beyond the reach of small international organisations. Paul Lindoewood, coordinator of Disability in Wales and Africa, shows simple and effective approaches to inclusion.
Monday 1st December marked World Aids Day: Fantastic awareness raising events, discussions and debates were held in Wales, and Wales Africa Links celebrated the work of organisations such as Swansea-based Positive Women who are supporting HIV women and children in Swaziland. But what now?

The Swansea- Siavonga Partnership is a not for profit partnership between two charitable organisations, Discovery Student Volunteering in Swansea and the Siavonga Nutrition Group based in Siavonga, Zambia. The partnership aims to build relationships across different cultures, maximise income generation through sharing experiences, supporting the education of children, making the best use of the environment and improving health through nutrition. The programme raises awareness and ambitions and demonstrates the benefit of cultural experiences.
We are delighted to introduce Chanai Operanta, our new Communications and Advocacy intern who joins us for 3 months from Swansea University, having previously volunteered with the Student Discovery Siavonga Partnership with Zambia.
